Approval Letters

The Medical Unit in Santa Fe mails an Approval Letter to customers to inform them that their Medical Report or Vision Report has been received, reviewed and approved by the Medical Unit.

All updates to the customer’s record have been completed by the Medical Unit prior to the issuance of the Approval Letter to the customer. The letter is the final process in the review of a Medical or Vision Report.

The customer should then bring the letter to the MVD Field Office for issuance of a new license. The letter states the restrictions that will appear on the license. These Approval Letters are not signed. Instead each letter bears the initials of the person issuing the letter within the Medical Unit.
