Emission Inspection – Bernalillo County Residents Only

Bernalillo County residents and those who commute into Bernalillo County 60 or more days per year are required to provide emission inspection certificates upon applying for a vehicle registration on new and used vehicles. Exceptions are new vehicles sold by a dealer with a MCO document, 1974 and older vehicles, motorcycles, diesel powered vehicles, vehicles weighing more than 26,000 lbs., and those vehicle owners who reside outside of Bernalillo County.

If you live in any of the following Bernalillo County zip codes, emission inspections are mandatory for registering vehicles in New Mexico:
