Veteran Designation

Veteran Designation on Driver’s License or ID Cards
Starting in November 2012, the New Mexico MVD has provided a way for veterans to be acknowledged on their Driver’s Licenses and ID’s.
- No cost on a first time or renewal
- If just adding designation, customer must pay regular replacement cost depending on 4 or 8 years
- Just need to provide either a DD214 or Veteran’s Card
- Customer does not need to show DD214 or Veteran’s Card on subsequent visits
- Can be removed on later replacement or renewal
